Detractors or Supporters?

You think you can escape it but you cannot.

I remember working with a lady who has tremendous anxiety issues. I did what I thought was right to help her when faced with a stressful situation and it turns out; she took my good intention and turned it the polar opposite direction to use against herself and me.

Now I know the saying: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The truth is I cannot own her reactions and I cannot shrink my voice or thoughts because it was not malicious or intended to harm.

But like I learned and you may want to as well.

If you go around pleasing everyone, you please no one - especially yourself.

What's the solution? 

Be you! Don’t be afraid to speak up. 

Your true supporters will know what you say comes from a place of love and the detractors will find a way to twist it.

Not your issue. 

Your issue is being authentic to you. 

As the saying goings “if you think other people are the problem; you’re going to need to send the entire world to the psychologist!”
